That feeling,
When the ghost footsteps stop following just before you could turn.
When you know it was there right until you reached for it.
When you look up into the sky and understand there is so much that you would never understand.
When you know it was never yours anyway, but still, but still, but still, it's there.
When you realize that you're living an ersatz life.
That feeling
That vague sense of loss.
I wish there was a word for it.

I think, you can call that feeling, a feeling of emptiness.

ReplyDelete@Sakshi, it would have been emptiness were it not so profound. And this is one of the things that moves on before one does. But yes, I agree, when it's emptiness, moving on is imperative.
